Each locust eats food equal to its weight. In this way, a locust-swarm eats 2500 to 3000 people. Locusts typically have a life span of 40 to 85 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">  \ud83d\udc49 <strong>Measures being taken for locust-swarm control <\/strong>\ud83d\udc48 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The field team of the Agriculture Department is constantly\ntracking the locust-swarm presence. Wherever the locusts are settled at night,\nthe news of the locust team of the Government of India is conveyed. So that the\ninsecticide can be sprayed on these locusts in the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sayaji group agricultural scientists have made several\nsuggestions for control from the locust-swarm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> \ud83d\udc49 <strong>Measures to prevent\u00a0 locust-swarm<\/strong> \ud83d\udc48 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Sayaji Group of entomologists, farmers can adopt many measures to avoid the locust-swarm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Make noise through drums, loudspeakers or other things to drive locusts away from the field. So that they flee away after hearing the voice, and do not succeed in their intentions. <\/li><li>In addition to the crop, when they gather in empty space, burn it from a flamethrower.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>At the place where the locust has laid its eggs, sprinkle 25 kg of 5 percent <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Malathion\"><strong>Malathion<\/strong><\/a> or 1.5 percent <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Quinalphos\">Quinalphos<\/a><\/strong> per hectare.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To prevent locusts from moving, mix 100 kg of paddy husk with 0.5 kg of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fenitrothion\">Fenitrothion<\/a><\/strong> and 5 kg of jaggery and spray it on the field. Locusts die from this poison.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>When\nthe locust sits on the field crop, sprinkle 5% malathion or 1.5% quinalphos on\nit.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>To prevent pest, spray 50 percent EC  <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fenitrothion\">Fenitrothion<\/a><\/strong> or  <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Malathion\"><strong>Malathion<\/strong><\/a> or 20 percent EC <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chlorpyrifos\">Chlorpyrifos<\/a><\/strong> having 1 liter in 800 to 1000 liters of water per hectare.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The locust-swarm changes its location just after 10 in the morning. Therefore, sprinkle 5 percent  <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Malathion\"><strong>Malathion<\/strong><\/a> or 1.5 percent quinalphos to prevent it from proceeding.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Spray 500 gm NSKE or 40 ml neem oil with 10 gm of washing powder, or 20 &#8211; 40 ml neem prepared in 10 liters of water. This prevents these locusts from eating crops.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>After plowing the crop, plow the field deeply. This destroys locusts&#8217; eggs.<br> <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Right now the biggest concern is that by the time the Locust-Swarm Eradication Department of the Agricultural Department reaches the affected place, these locusts change their locations.
